During a press briefing today, security officials addressed the controversy surrounding the removal of popular TikTok content creator Muzungu Boda from Uganda. Contrary to earlier reports claiming that he was deported, officials clarified that Muzungu Boda was not deported but rather removed from the country after violating immigration regulations.
The TikTok personality, known for his humorous and engaging videos, had originally entered Uganda on a tourist visa. However, it was revealed that he had been operating a charity organization and engaging in content creation activities without the proper work permit. Security officials confirmed that his activities required a work permit, which he did not possess. This, according to authorities, was the basis for his organized removal from the country.
The statement clarified that although Muzungu Boda came to Uganda as a tourist, his involvement in charity work and content creation was deemed as employment-like activity, which necessitates the appropriate permits.
As of now, there has been no further public comment from Muzungu Boda regarding the claims made by the security officials.
