According to reports Umeme, Uganda’s primary electricity distributor, has reminded Yaka prepaid meter users to check and upgrade their meters by November 24 to avoid service disruptions. Officials say the upgrade is part of efforts to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted power supply. In a statement, Umeme highlighted that the upgrade aligns with its commitment to maintaining service quality as it approaches the end of its government contract in March 2025.
